Last night, I hosted my 3rd annual Women’s Empowerment Dinner honoring women from DC/MD/VA for their community work. This year was very special because in addition to my 10 honorees, I invited 10 young girls to attend as guests and witness this sisterhood moment. The idea behind that was to inspire and encourage the next generation to make philanthropy a big part of their every day lives. As always, the event was sponsored by Ciroc (We’re currently in #CirocWeek2016) and the food was catered by the amazing Chef Antonio.
My little sister Noor Tagouri gave a very inspiring speech!
This year’s nominees:
Tati (Radio host, philanthropist)
Dana Hall (Aya, Incorporated)
Shantell Dockett (The Society For Girls Inc)
Naimah Sharif (N Life Non-profit)
Becky Lee (Becky’s Fund)
Tatum Harrison (The Queen Academy)
Candyce Jones (John Wall Foundation)
Nichole Powell-McBride (Healthcare Executive)
Camille V. Williams (Artist)
Nathalie Smith (Plush Beauty)
Also a huge thanks to my other guests that attended: Noyah, Galia, Leslie, Susan, Stephanie, Jasmine, MJ, Yessica, Kaylyn, Mia and Chezia.
Thank you all for a beautiful night of laughs, tears and inspiration. I pray that you continue your great work because no matter how big or small, we’re contributing to our communities and for that I’m so proud of all of you.
